Job summary

ACI Worldwide is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support and enhance enterprise payment systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with COBOL, IBM WebSphere, AIX, Linux, and the MTS payments platform, delivering stability and high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, information systems or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in application engineering or software development.
• Strong COBOL experience with legacy systems.
• Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server.
• Solid Linux and AIX experience.
• Experience with MTS payments platform or similar.
• Scripting skills (Shell, Perl) and job scheduling tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support, maintain, and enhance applications running on the MTS payments platform.
• Develop and troubleshoot COBOL programs and batch jobs in a high-volume transaction environment.
• Manage and deploy applications using IBM WebSphere Application Server.
• Perform system administration tasks on AIX and Linux servers related to application support.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and development teams to ensure system reliability and compliance.
• Participate in incident management and root cause analysis for production issues.
• Document technical processes, configurations, and procedures.
• Assist in planning and executing application upgrades and migrations.
• Monitor application performance and implement tuning strategies.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Systems Engineer to support and enhance our enterprise payment systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere, COBOL, AIX, Linux, and the MTS payments platform, and will be responsible for maintaining application stability, implementing enhancements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

• Support, maintain, and enhance applications running on the MTS payments platform.
• Develop and troubleshoot COBOL programs and batch jobs in a high-volume transaction environment.
• Manage and deploy applications using IBM WebSphere Application Server.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in financial services or payment processing environments.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management tools.
