Job summary

Charter Global seeks a Senior Systems Dynatrace Engineer in Columbia, MD. The role focuses on leveraging Dynatrace for end-to-end observability across hybrid infrastructure and critical applications.

You will configure and manage Dynatrace monitoring solutions, develop dashboards, and proactively identify performance issues to prevent production impact. Hybrid onsite 1-2 times per week with duration 6-12 months+.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of systems engineering experience.

• Azure experience is mandatory; Prometheus and Linux preferred.

Position: Sr Systems Dynatrace Engineer

Location: Columbia, MD (Hybrid onsite 1-2 times per week)

Duration: 6-12 Months+

Seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to leverage Dynatrace for ensuring end-to-end observability across their hybrid infrastructure and critical applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring and managing Dynatrace monitoring solutions, developing dashboards, and proactively identifying performance issues.

Responsibilities

• Dashboarding & Alerting: Proven ability to develop and maintain custom Dynatrace dashboards, health checks, and alerting thresholds. Must be able to demonstrate experience of tuning alerts to reduce false positives and noise


• Application Performance Monitoring (APM): Hands-on experience utilizing Dynatrace for APM to monitor application performance and transaction flows. Must be familiar with PurePath technology for distributed tracing and code-level visibility


• Synthetic & Real User Monitoring (RUM): Experience configuring and supporting Dynatrace Synthetic monitoring (simulating user journeys) and Real User Monitoring (RUM) to analyze actual end‑user experience and browser performance


• Proactive Incident Identification: Ability to use Dynatrace to proactively identify potential system or application performance issues before they impact production, and to provide monitoring insights during incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis

Required Experience

• 5-10 years of systems engineering experience and 5+ years of hands‑on Dynatrace monitoring and installation support experience.


• Experience configuring, maintaining, and optimizing Dynatrace monitoring solutions for end‑to‑end visibility across hybrid infrastructure (Windows/Linux servers) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)


• Proven ability to develop and maintain custom Dynatrace dashboards, health checks, and alerting thresholds


• Experience tuning alerts to reduce false positives and noise


• Hands‑on experience utilizing Dynatrace for Application Performance Monitoring (APM) to monitor application performance and transaction flows


• Experience with Azure is mandatory. Prometheus and Linux is preferred.
