Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Mid-Senior SAP FICO Systems Analyst to lead FI/CO design, configuration, and support on SAP S/4HANA. You will partner with Finance to translate requirements into scalable configuration and reporting solutions, including SAC and Power BI.

The role requires 8+ years in SAP FICO, strong knowledge of US-GAAP/IFRS, and experience with ERP migrations or M&A. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years hands-on SAP FICO experience.
• Experience with SAP ECC 6.0 and/or SAP S/4HANA Finance and Costing.
• Strong understanding of US-GAAP and IFRS, tax procedures.
• Able to translate financial requirements into SAP FICO configurations.
• Familiarity with ABAP code for troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, configuration, and optimization of FI/CO modules in SAP S4 HANA.
• Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Interface with Finance/Accounting for requirements and reporting.
• Oversee FP&A reporting using SAC and Power BI.
• Support ERP migrations, mergers, or carve-outs.

We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Mid-Senior SAP FICO Systems Analyst to serve as a trusted partner for our Finance/Accounting departments. In this role, you will lead the design, configuration, optimization, and day-to-day support of core SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules on SAP S4 HANA platform and take on related projects aligning with company goals.

What we're looking for:

• Education: Highschool Diploma required. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, etc. preferred.
• Experience : Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP FICO Analyst, Consultant, or equivalent functional engineering role
• SAP Version Depth: Proven hands-on configuration experience in SAP ECC 6.0 and/or SAP S/4HANA Finance and Costing .
• Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial regulations, general accounting principles ( US-GAAP and/or IFRS ), and corporate tax procedures. Proven ability to translate financial and management accounting requirements into scalable SAP FICO configurations, while seamlessly converting complex system outputs into clear business-focused insights for stakeholders.
• Technical Familiarity: Comfortable navigating ABAP code to troubleshoot system errors, assess modifications, and leverage standard user exits or substitution rules.
• Official SAP FICO or S/4HANA Finance Certification .
• Experience supporting large-scale ERP migrations, carve-outs, or mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
• Prior exposure to advanced analytics tools, Business Intelligence (BI), or Data Warehousing technologies.
• Experience implementing or managing niche sub-modules such as Material Ledger, Treasury, or Central Finance (CFIN), SAC

How you will thrive and create an impact:

Finance and Accounting Lead the design, configuration, testing, and implementation of core SAP FI/CO modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), Product Costing using actual costing enabled using Material Ledger in S4 HANA application. Lead functional design for FP&A related reporting using SAC and other analytical tools like PowerBI

Product Costing - Experience and knowledge for subjects like Standard costing, Actual costing and inventory valuation using Material Ledger, Variance analysis , experience in discreet manufacturing, annual planning, settlement, allocation, cost component structure, long term planning(LTP) or integrated business planning (IBP)

Supply Chain Integration: Oversee and optimize critical integration points between FI/CO and operational modules, specifically Production Planning (PP) , Materials Management (MM) , and Sales and Distribution (SD) .

Business Analysis & Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for the Finance team to gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements. Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications and functional designs

Operational Excellence & Close Support: Provide functional guidance and troubleshooting for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes to ensure accurate internal and external financial reporting
