We are currently seeking a Sr Systems Administrator - Active Directory-US Citizen to join our team in Washington DC, District of Columbia (US-DC), United States (US).

Position's General Duties and Tasks:

The Senior IT Systems Administrator – Active Directory provides Tier 2 through 4 operational support and administration for enterprise services within the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). This role focuses on configuring and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory environments supporting approximately 10,000 users and 10,000 computer objects in a no-fail, globally accessible mission environment. Key responsibilities include:

1. Configuring Active Directory objects, including users, groups, and organizational units, to ensure accurate access control and system functionality.
2. Maintaining the health of Active Directory domains and forests through regular updates, backups, and replication monitoring.
3. Resolving escalated technical issues related to Active Directory, such as login failures, group policy errors, and directory synchronization problems.
4. Monitoring Active Directory performance and security logs to detect and mitigate anomalies or unauthorized access attempts.
5. Supporting system administrators and end-users by providing guidance on Active Directory-related configurations and troubleshooting.
6. Documenting administrative procedures, configuration changes, and incident resolutions to maintain operational records and support compliance.
7. Implementing security patches and updates to Active Directory systems to meet DoD standards and protect against vulnerabilities.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related scientific or technical discipline. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a case-by-case basis.
2. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience supporting projects of similar size, scope, and complexity (e.g., enterprise-level IT administration for 10,000+ users).
3. Certifications: Compliance with DoD 8140 for Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level 2 (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, or equivalent) is required at the time of hiring.
4. Must be a US citizen with a Top Secret/SCI Clearance who is capable of receiving a higher level clearance.
5. Must currently reside a commutable distance from the client site in Washington, DC.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
2. Proven ability to configure and maintain complex Active Directory forests and domains in a multi-site, high-availability environment.
3. Certifications: Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate) and DoD 8140 IAT Level 3 compliance (e.g., CASP+, CISSP).
4. More than 5 years of experience in IT systems administration, particularly with Active Directory in a DoD or government enterprise setting.
5. Experience with related enterprise services, such as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) administration, Windows server management, or mobile device management platforms.
6. Strong track record of resolving complex technical issues in a 24/7/365 operational environment supporting global users.
7. Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams supporting mission-critical IT operations on a global scale.
