Amazon.com Services LLC in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a System TPM to lead hardware engineering teams from concept to mass production. You own end-to-end schedules, report issues, define mitigations, and keep senior management informed to ensure on-time delivery of devices.

You will partner with product, engineering, and exec teams, travel for prototype builds, and drive cost-down efforts while maintaining strict program governance and quality across global suppliers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of direct engineering team collaboration.
• 3+ years in technical product or program management.
• 3+ years of project management in scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional programs and release schedules.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent.
• 3+ years hardware design or development in consumer electronics.

As a System TPM, you lead the hardware engineering teams in developing products from concept to mass production. You own the end-to-end schedule, report on engineering issues, define mitigation strategies, lead cost down efforts, and keep senior management up-to-date on progress. You are the single threaded owner for ensuring end to end delivery of a device.

Key job responsibilities

Role

• Work with key stakeholders in product management and executive teams to define strategy and requirements
• Deep dive on key technical issues and lead teams to find solutions within program constraints
• Own cross functional development schedules
• Lead cross functional development on new technology from design through mass production, working across all hardware disciplines
• Work with remote teams across the world and travel to Asia to complete prototype builds to test and validate our product designs.
• Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks and to drive key decision making
• Manage resource prioritization, drive cost down efforts, look around corners to prevent common development pitfalls.
• Lead key product development milestones following a waterfall style development within hardware.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
• 3+ years of technical product or program management experience
• 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
• 3+ years hardware design or development experience, consumer electronics preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
• Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
• 5+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience, or a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
