Job summary

Prattwhitney is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to support both Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environments within the Digital Technology organization. Responsibilities include deploying, configuring, and maintaining server systems, as well as troubleshooting technical issues.

The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree, U.S. citizenship, and an active Secret security clearance. Benefits include insurance coverage, 401(k) match, and flexible work schedules.

Overview

RTX, a global aerospace and defense company, is hiring an IT Systems Administrator to support Windows and Linux environments for our Digital Technology organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux systems, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and replication.
• Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve moderate to high‑scope technical problems involving hardware and operating systems.
• Collaborate within a fast‑paced team and integrate solutions across platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field.
• U.S. citizenship and active Secret security clearance required.
• Experience with installation, configuration, and administration of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Ability to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within a reasonable time.

Preferred

• Experience with Linus RedHat.
• Knowledge of NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and DoD/RMF.
• Experience with storage technologies (NAS, SAN), VMware vCenter, vSphere, and Microsoft WSUS, MECM, or Exchange.
