Job summary

Elbit Systems of America, LLC is seeking a Test Engineer to write, review and modify test procedures for troubleshooting electronic assemblies and to support test technicians by guiding techniques to resolve difficult problems.

The role includes developing test equipment, conducting research to resolve production issues, authoring ECPs, and supporting New Product Setup, ECOs and process improvements while remaining available for on-call or overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 5–10 years functional experience may substitute.
• Associate's degree required.
• Technical degree in engineering, electronics, etc.
• 5–10 years of functional experience required.
• 1–3 years of industry experience required.
• ESD training and Safety Training required within one year of taking position.

Responsibilities

• Write, review and modify test procedures for troubleshooting electronic assemblies.
• Support test technicians by troubleshooting difficult problems and instructing techniques.
• Develop test equipment and test assemblies to aid technicians in isolating problems.
• Conduct research to resolve production difficulties.
• Write ECPs on product to correct errors and resolve production difficulties.
• Provide New Product Setup, Programming and Support, ECO and Process Improvement Implementation.
• Be prepared for on-call or overtime requirements to meet schedules.
• Lead, participate and contribute to a team environment across the organization.
• Stay abreast of state-of-the-art technical and equipment issues through training and self-development.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Write, review and modify test procedures for the troubleshooting of electronic assemblies
• Support test technicians by troubleshooting difficult problems and by instructing the technicians in techniques to resolve these issues
• Develop test equipment and test assemblies to aid the technicians in isolating problems
• Conduct research to resolve production difficulties

Education, Experience & License or Certification:

• Bachelor's degree is required. 5-10 years functional experience may substitute
• Associate's degree is required
• Specific Degree Field Required: Technical Degree (engineering, electronics, etc.)
• 5-10 years of functional (using skill set) experience is required
• 1-3 years of industry experience is required
• Training Pre-requisites (Within One Year of Taking Position):
  • ESD
  • Safety Training, as dictated by Safety Department

Skills and Abilities:

• Able to formulate resolution plans, solutions, and a concise, informational final report
• Able to analyze technical data package for new programs with minimal supervision, to anticipate and prevent, where possible, production issues and risks
• Able to participate in small teams for issue resolution
• Able to troubleshoot complex issues with minimal supervision, and break them down into smaller, more simple tasks for the technicians to perform
• Support programs in front of the customer, by professional appearance and demeanor
• Able to provide presentations when necessary
• Exhibit a willingness to stay abreast of all state of the art, technical and equipment issues through training and self-development
• Familiarity with basic test equipment (i.e. oscilloscopes, voltmeters, signal generators, etc.)
• Good Working knowledge of basic computer applications
