Job summary

Moog Inc. in Torrance, CA, seeks a Senior Supplier Development Engineer to lead supplier maturity and readiness initiatives onsite. You will drive risk reduction and improve supplier performance for new product launch and work transfers.

The role requires 7+ years in manufacturing engineering or supply chain, with strong project management and stakeholder communication skills. Expect 20%–35% travel and an onsite Torrance base with a 9/80 schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (manufacturing, supply chain, or related discipline, or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years’ experience in manufacturing engineering or supply chain manufacturing engineering.
• Experience with supplier development, APQP, industrialization, manufacturing readiness, or operations improvement.
• Ability to assess process maturity, capability evidence, and supplier execution risk.
• Strong project-management discipline with clear action tracking and follow-up.
• Clear communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders on risk, expectations, and closure plans.
• 20% to 35% travel, depending on supplier-development and readiness-assessment demand.

Responsibilities

• Improve supplier capability, capacity, readiness, and execution before issues become chronic by leading structured supplier-development plans and readiness assessments.
• Lead supplier capability, capacity, readiness, and risk assessments for assigned suppliers or programs.
• Build and track supplier development plans with specific owners, milestones, and closure evidence.
• Support supplier onboarding, segmentation, capability assessment, and readiness review activities.
• Coordinate program, sourcing, manufacturing, and quality inputs when supplier maturity is below expectation.
• Drive clear issue definition and action ownership so development work does not fragment across teams.
• Focuses on Electro-Mechanical Assemblies, Electronics, Supplier Owned IPs, and Some machining knowledge required.
