Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Senior Supplier Development Engineer for the Electronics Value Stream. You will develop strategic supplier partnerships, manage performance, and drive quality improvements to enhance product quality and supply chain efficiency.

You will report to the Sr Director of Supplier Development and work from the Minneapolis, MN location on a Hybrid schedule. You will lead supplier capability assessments, quality improvement plans, and performance management initiatives,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials, Supply Chain, Business, or Management required.
  • 7+ years of manufacturing engineering and supplier development experience.
  • Experience in quality, supplier management or development roles.
  • Ability to work across borders and with global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate supplier capabilities and support hardware transitions from development to production.
  • Create and implement supplier quality improvement plans.
  • Lead capacity assessments and drive supplier performance with clear metrics.
  • Partner with Suppliers on OPEX projects to improve product flow, lead times, and yield.
  • Ensure supplier adherence to quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve supplier issues.

Job description

As a Senior Supplier Development Engineer for the Electronics Value Stream, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of electronic suppliers. You will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships with suppliers, managing their performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and supply chain efficiency.

You will report directly to our Sr Director of Supplier Development,and you’ll work out of ourMinneapolis, MNlocation on aHybridwork schedule.

In this role, you will impact our supplier development by bringing your extensive expertise and experience to our organization. You will play a critical role in driving supplier performance and ensuring that our suppliers meet the highest quality standards. Your contributions directly impact our organization's operational excellence and overall success.

Responsibilities
  • Supplier Capability Assessment:Evaluate the capabilities of suppliers and support the transition of hardware from development to production.
  • Quality Improvement Plans:Conduct supplier risk assessments and implement targeted quality improvement plans.
  • Performance Management:Lead and participate in capacity assessment exercises, driving supplier performance by establishing clear metrics and performance expectations.
  • Operational Excellence:Partner with Suppliers toLead and supportOPEX projects enabling improvements in product flow / throughput, lead time reduction, & yield.
  • Regulatory Compliance:Ensure that suppliers comply with quality management systems, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborative Engagement:Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to resolve supplier-related issues and improve overall supply chain performance.
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials, Supply Chain, Business, Management

7 years+ of manufacturing engineering and supplier development experience

Experience in one or more of the following: Quality, Business, Supplier Management background (supplier quality and/or development)

Global Mindset: Capable of working effectively across borders with employees, customers and shareholders to develop business opportunities that lie beyond community and country borders. Supports sourcing for representing quality to manufacture, deliver products and services efficiently/effectively globally.

Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements

WE VALUE

  • Knowledge of aerospace standards and practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of supplier development strategies, supplier relationship management, and quality control
  • Experience with project management and Kaizen facilitation
  • Familiarity with Total Preventative Maintenance, asset management for downtime reduction, critical spare parts, and CAPEX proposals.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial acumen
  • 6+ years of leadership and team management experience
  • Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Green or Black Belt Certification(s) in Lean / Six Sigma
