Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems in Mountain View, CA seeks a Sr. Structural Analysis Engineer to perform static, dynamic and thermal stress analyses on spacecraft structures and assemblies, supporting on-orbit and launch environments.

You will run FEA with FEMAP or Patran, conduct hand calculations, develop load cases, and design structural test programs, collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to validate integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil or related engineering discipline.
• Five years of experience; master’s degree may count for two years.
• Proficiency with FEMAP or Patran.
• Knowledge of structural testing and basic structural analysis concepts such as strength of materials and stress analysis.
• Familiarity with advanced composite materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analyses including static, dynamics and thermal stress analysis.
• Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and hand calculations to evaluate metal, non-metallic, and composite structures.
• Provide technical inputs to mechanical designs and support manufacturing related structural issues.

You'll be part of a challenging and fast-paced team, working on spacecrafts operating in earth orbits, deep space missions, interplanetary missions and much more. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.● The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually.● The base pay for this position within New Jersey is: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually.● The base pay for this position within Delaware is: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually.● The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $99,000.00 - $165,000.00 annually.● The base pay for this position within California is: $104,000.00 - $173,000.00 annually.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
