The Opportunity

At Designer Brands, data helps power great decisions, better experiences, and meaningful business outcomes. As a Senior Business Intelligence Developer, you'll play a key role in transforming complex data into trusted insights that help teams across the organization make informed decisions.

This is a hands‑on technical role where you'll design, build, and support enterprise analytics solutions within our cloud data warehouse environment. You'll partner with both business and technology teams to understand challenges, uncover opportunities, and deliver scalable reporting and analytics solutions that make an impact.

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating with stakeholders, and turning data into actionable insights. If you're passionate about data architecture, business intelligence, and helping others leverage data more effectively, this could be a great opportunity to grow your career while influencing decisions across a dynamic retail organization.

This position is open to remote candidates within the continental United States.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Architect and deliver certified enterprise reporting, dashboard, and decision support solutions that provide accurate and reliable data.
  • Partner with the Data Architecture team to ensure semantic layer and metadata solutions align with enterprise standards and best practices.
Support Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics needs and translate them into scalable solutions.
  • Provide guidance, training, and best practices that help teams leverage self‑service analytics tools effectively.
  • Help promote a data‑driven culture by ensuring users have access to trusted and meaningful insights.
Solve Complex Technical Challenges
  • Serve as the primary technical owner for user inquiries, production support incidents, and enhancement requests.
  • Triage, prioritize, estimate, and drive work through successful resolution while balancing competing business priorities.
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot data, performance, and application issues across reporting, metadata, and platform components.
Ensure Stability and Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in production deployments, object migrations, and change management activities.
  • Contribute to an after‑hours on‑call rotation.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, metadata architecture artifacts, schema designs, and knowledge management resources.
