Job summary

The Bachrach Group is actively seeking an experienced Sr Strategic Buyer (Electronics) to lead procurement initiatives in Pittsburgh, PA. This permanent, on-site role emphasizes cost-effective sourcing, strategic supplier development, and strong negotiation in electronics manufacturing.

You will manage MRP inputs, review supplier performance, and collaborate with engineering to address obsolescence and lead-time challenges in a fast-paced environment. This is a permanent, on-site position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Progressive experience in procurement, preferably in electronics manufacturing.
• Intermediate knowledge of MRP systems and purchasing laws.

• Procure products within assigned commodity areas in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
• Identify and reduce long lead times by utilizing material strategies with suppliers.
• Review daily MRP exception messages, purchase order status, and order action reports.
• Negotiate best value with suppliers and perform materials quotation for prices and delivery.

• Develop new and alternate sources of supply to reduce the supplier base.
• Perform Quarterly Business Reviews with key suppliers as required.

What You’ll Do

• Procure products within assigned commodity areas in a timely and cost‑effective manner
• Identify and reduce long lead times by utilizing material strategies with suppliers
• Review daily MRP exception messages, purchase order status, and order action reports
• Negotiate best value with suppliers and perform materials quotation for prices and delivery

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of 7 years of progressive relevant experience
• Previous experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
• Intermediate knowledge of MRP systems and purchasing laws
• Strong negotiation, math, and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to multitask and adapt within a rapidly changing environment
