Sr Strategic Account Executive - PBM Health Plans Remote - 2284281

This role serves as the senior level liaison between Optum and key clients, typically at the Director or Vice President level. Responsible for coordinating activities of multiple internal departments to deliver excellent service, developing client-specific trend management strategies, and managing client relationships for retention and growth. May or may not manage a team. Requires a deep understanding of the PBM environment and healthcare system.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned accounts focusing on trend management, strategic planning, and client relationship cultivation.
  • Handle contract renewals, aiming for client retention, multi-year agreements, and profitability.
  • Understand client objectives, develop shared goals, and demonstrate program value.
  • Articulate the value of OptumRx products and services to stakeholders and deploy new programs.
  • Maintain regular communication, prepare performance reviews, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Conduct client meetings, monitor contract terms, document activities, and manage team members.
  • Support sales activities, ensure client satisfaction, and adhere to compliance policies.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years in Pharmacy Benefits Management client relationship or account management.
  • 3+ years of upselling PBM products and programs.
  • 2+ years managing client contracts.
  • Experience presenting to senior client leadership and working in a self-motivated environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 25-50%, working primarily with clients in the eastern time zone.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PBM contract negotiations, supporting health plan clients, and understanding financial terms and rebates.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, RxClaim, Tracker, and Navigator.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and prioritization skills.

The salary range is $106,800 to $194,200 annually, with comprehensive benefits and incentives. This position is remote within the U.S., with a focus on the eastern time zone. The application will be open for at least 2 business days or until sufficient candidates are collected.
