Base pay range

$120,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr

We’re seeking a seasoned accounting professional with a strong grasp of GAAP and a proactive approach to financial reporting and analysis. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment where you’ll be responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial insights that inform business decisions and ensure regulatory compliance.

What You’ll Do

• Execute core accounting responsibilities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial classification/analysis—often involving complex and non-routine transactions.
• Tackle technical accounting issues using current standards and apply analytical judgment to solve nuanced problems.
• Develop and interpret financial and management reports across a range of categories including statutory filings, investment reporting, tax schedules, reinsurance, and employee benefits.
• Recommend and implement process improvements, controls, and system enhancements to support better accuracy and efficiency.
• Act as a subject matter resource for peers, occasionally leading departmental initiatives or serving as the go-to on special projects.
• Monitor and communicate the impact of updates to relevant regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
• Collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory agencies to ensure alignment and transparency.
• Contribute to large-scale financial projects by owning distinct components and helping drive successful outcomes.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or advanced degree is a strong plus.
• 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
• Exposure to both GAAP and statutory reporting; SEC familiarity is an asset.
• Previous experience in public accounting or working with insurance financial statements is ideal.
• Advanced skills with Excel (including PivotTables, PowerQuery, and PowerPivot), and experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
• Comfortable working with financial systems and reporting tools in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to self-direct, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and maintain high accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when collaborating across teams or presenting to external parties.
• A mindset rooted in ownership, integrity, and action-oriented problem solving.
