Salary Range:$243,750-$406,250

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $243,750-$406,250 plus bonus eligibility and other elements of our total rewards package. The range represents the amount bnsf | tech reasonably expects to pay for the position based on the level, scope, and responsibilities of the role. Individual compensation and level of position offered is determined by the hiring location and additional factors including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.In addition to base pay, BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

As a Sr Staff SAP Solutions Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the creation and maintenance of scalable SAP systems.
  • Architect and prototype new SAP landscapes to meet evolving business and technical requirements.
  • Drive efforts to transition towards S/4HANA and other SAP innovations.
  • Develop in-house solutions where necessary.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior consultants.
  • Elevate the quality of SAP practices through design sessions and configuration reviews.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of SAP applications.
  • Identify and address bottlenecks and bugs, devising solutions to mitigate these issues.
  • Implement and manage rigorous testing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay up to date with emerging SAP technologies and industry trends.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle to solve complex problems.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement within SAP teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 12+ years of experience working as an SAP techno-functional consultant, with a focus on S/4HANA implementation and support.
  • Strong techno-functional expertise and hands-on experience in at least 5 SAP modules such as SAP Finance (FI), Controlling (CO), Materials Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), Plant Maintenance (PM), Project Systems (PS), Fixed Assets, Human Capital Management (SuccessFactors) HCM, etc.
  • Engineer and configure complex time management processes, including work schedules, absences, and attendances.
  • Develop and maintain robust payroll schemas and Personnel Control Rules to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and optimize payroll processing efficiency.
  • Design, Engineer and configure Revenue Management processes, including revenue recognition models, rating, billing, partner settlement, payables, collections and financials/reporting.
  • Extensive experience in leading end-to-end SAP implementation projects, including requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Expertise in SAP ABAP, Java, and HANA/AMDP coding.
  • Proficient in using testing automation tools and frameworks, including SAP Solution Document and Test suite, TBOMs, and Worksoft.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP Technical components, including ABAP, HANA, BTP, UI5, and PI.
  • Lead the integration and architecture for SuccessFactors Employee Central and Time Tracking modules, ensuring HR business processes comply with GDPR, HIPAA, and SOX standards.
  • Experience with SAP Fiori and SAP Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of SAP BW/4HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud.
  • In-depth knowledge of S/4HANA functionality, best practices, and integration with other SAP modules or third-party systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues and provide innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders, business users, and technical teams effectively.
  • Ability to mentor and coach junior/mid-level consultants, share knowledge, and contribute to the continuous improvement of SAP practices within the organization.
  • Experience working in Railroad or any Transportation, Supply Chain industries and understanding of industry-specific SAP solutions and requirements.
  • Analyzes and understands the current business process and workflows to identify gaps and provides solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Participating in the evaluation and selection of new SAP technologies and tools.
  • Providing recommendations for process improvements and best practices in SAP implementation.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest SAP trends and developments to ensure the organization stays competitive.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant SAP certifications and a proven track record of successful SAP project deliveries.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, CloudWatch
  • Fuel procurement process in SAP MM.
  • Experience with A riba Network.
  • Experience with ABAP, BTP, UI5, CPI, BOOMI and PI.
  • Experience with AI Aware and AIOps LLM/SLM technologies including SAP Joule
  • Lead integration and architecture for SuccessFactors Employee Central and Time Tracking modules. Design HR business processes ensuring compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, SOX standards.
