Job summary

Hims seeks a visionary Sr. Staff Engineer to lead architectural innovation and strategic technical direction at scale. You will guide customer-facing systems, align engineering with product goals, and enable cross-functional execution to deliver high-impact technology.

You will shape patterns, governance, and collaboration across teams while mentoring engineers and driving sustainable, customer-centric solutions for measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with Kotlin, Java or Go and system design for scale.
• Experience introducing and scaling shared infrastructure across multiple teams.
• Proficiency with CI/CD workflows, cloud infrastructure, and observability tools.
• Demonstrated ability to drive architectural clarity and strategic alignment across functions.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Bring

12+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong recordof group-level technical leadership.Experience with technologies such as Kotlin, Java or Go, with a deepunderstanding of system design for scale and performance.Experience introducing and scaling shared infrastructure, frameworks, or librariesacross multiple teams.Proficiency with CI/CD workflows (e.g., CircleCI, GitHub), cloud infrastructure(AWS, Docker, Kubernetes), and observability tools (e.g., Datadog).Demonstrated ability to drive architectural clarity and strategic technicalalignment across functions.Experience translating customer and clinical needs into reliable, maintainable,and high-impact technical solutions.A track record of driving meaningful improvements in developer experience, teamvelocity, and system sustainability.
