Job description

The Senior Staff Accountant coordinates daily, monthly, and annual financial operating activity and ensures that all financial reporting functions comply with GAAP. The Senior Staff Accountant has direct reports that consist of any of the following positions: AP Specialist, AR Specialist, or other similarly assigned roles.

This role is for candidates who reside within 60 miles of our 9th Street SE office in Minneapolis

Work Responsibilities
  • Enter adjustments to the General Ledger and maintain proper backup for entries
  • Reconcile balance sheet and P&L accounts in General Ledger
  • Prepare documentation and provide support for the year-end financial audit
  • Review weekly check runs
  • Prepare accounting metric reports
  • Support overflow accounts receivable and accounts payable functions as needed
  • Support Accounting Team with ad hoc projects
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Five years’ experience in a relevant finance or accounting position
  • Three years’ experience effectively managing, supervising, and coaching staff
Computer and/or Software Qualifications
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Basic level of proficiency in Word, Outlook
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
  • Experience working in an ERP environment
