Job Summary
The Analyst, Core Business Applications collaborates with functional and technical stakeholders to develop and maintain new and existing application systems using Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies. The Analyst, Core Business Applications builds forward-looking solutions that are scalable and maintainable to meet the business objectives, delivering creative solutions to better serve members, employees, and employers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, and implements new applications systems.
- Interviews key stakeholders to elicit requirements to identify functional and non-functional needs, develops prototypes, creates specifications documents, and presents to IT and functional staff as appropriate.
- Analyzes requested changes by conducting impact analysis of the interdependencies of existing functionality to avoid negative impacts to existing applications systems.
- Develops and configures solutions according to secure coding standards and best practices.
- Performs functional, regression, security, and operational testing for all changes.
- Maintains, troubleshoots, and fixes errors in existing application systems affecting usability or process outcomes.
- Provide root cause analysis of application related issues.
- Obtains end user satisfaction with all system changes.
- Evaluates software tools and techniques to determine potential use in existing and new applications
- Conducts peer review process to ensure coding standards are followed and to improve quality.
Education and Experience- Strong SQL skills.
- The ability to support SaaS based solutions.
- Knowledge of employee benefits administration.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to interpret and analyze user needs and to clearly document solutions.
- The ability to work with vendor partners and third party consultants with minimal supervision.
- The ability to learn and understand the Board's business which is key to meeting the business need.
- The ability to produce accurate, high-quality work while managing multiple assignments and tasks, following each through to completion within given deadlines.
- The ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a highly motivated, fast paced, and effective team.
- The ability to work overtime and weekends as required to meet commitments.
- A desire to stay current and maintain a level of expertise with technology advances via seminars, literature, and formal training.
