The Company
Founded in 1973, Meyer and Associates is a boutique direct-marketing company, selling insurance products through the sponsorship of college and university alumni associations. We employ about 30 people in an entrepreneurial environment, many of whom work remotely or hybrid.

The Position
This is a roll-up-your-sleeves position in a fast-paced, client-driven, regulated business. We seek a technically confident high achiever, forward thinker who takes initiative, learns fast, and thrives on variety. Teamwork is essential.

The Responsibilities
As we have become increasingly reliant on complex data and data procedures, as well as websites and self-service portals, we are looking for a detail-oriented software developer to manage the following:

  • Website and Portal Maintenance. Shadow senior developers, initially relieve them of basic functions, and gradually take on increasingly advanced responsibilities.
  • Data Manipulation. Download, review, and map data using established rules and tools, sanity check using historical data, and slice and dice based on segmentation rules.
  • Reporting. Collect, manipulate, run, and disseminate recurring and ad hoc reports. Some are internal. Some are with third parties. Some need modification.
  • Process Improvement and Automation. Routinize recurring activities, reports, and processes to improve efficiency, allow users to become more self-sufficient, and prevent monotony!

The Requirements
We're looking for the right person to fill this position. Contenders must:

  • Have at least two years of experience with:
    • PHP 7 and PHP 8 on IIS
    • JavaScript and jQuery
    • Bootstrap 4
    • JSON
    • HTML
    • CSS
    • MSSQL/SQL Server
  • Have familiarity with:
    • ISS configuration
    • PHP PDO
    • Azure DevOps Server (a "plus" not a requirement)
  • Be based in the U.S
  • "Fit" well with existing team
  • Have a Bachelor's degree
  • Possess excellent communication, math, and reasoning skills
  • Demonstrate relevant quantitative analysis experience
  • Understand small business and be willing to pitch in as needed
  • Be bright, able to multi-task, and a self-starter.

The Next Steps
Submit your resume with a customized cover letter. Candidates of interest to Meyer and Associates will be contacted with additional information about the position and for a preliminary phone interview and employment testing. Some candidates may then be invited for an interview.

Benefits
We provide:

  • Competitive pay plus three weeks of paid vacation plus paid holidays.
  • Generous 401k package (once eligible).
  • Life and disability insurance.
  • Flexibility to work remotely, hybrid, or in office.
  • Newly renovated office space, just steps from the Chatham train station and downtown Chatham.
