Job summary

SGLN Technologies Inc. in Palm Bay, Florida is seeking a hands-on hardware design engineer to design circuit card assemblies (CCAs) using mixed-signal technologies, including A/D and D/A conversion, FPGA/CPLD devices, and high‑speed memory interfaces.

You will own the digital CCA design lifecycle from requirements through verification, create schematics and wiring diagrams, apply advanced board techniques, and collaborate with Systems, Mechanical, Software and Firmware teams; onsite work with

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years experience; graduate degree with 4+ years; or 10+ years experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in digital and/or mixed-signal electrical hardware design and end-to-end CCA development.
• Ability to work independently and communicate technical decisions clearly.
• On-site in Palm Bay, Florida; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Preferred: high-speed memory or network interfaces and FPGA/CPLD architectures.
• Hands-on hardware debugging with signal generators, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Experience leading a design team and collaborating across Hardware, Software and Systems Engineering.
• Self-directed, collaborative working style for multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design circuit card assemblies (CCAs) using mixed-signal technologies including FPGA/CPLD, A/D and D/A conversion, and high-speed memory interfaces.
• Own the digital CCA design lifecycle from requirements to verification and testing.
• Create schematics, functional/ block diagrams, and wiring diagrams across digital, analog, power and mixed-signal domains.
• Develop solutions using Xilinx FPGAs, TI DSPs, processors and memory (DDRx, SRAM, ROM, Flash).
• Apply advanced board technologies such as HDI, Meg6, back drilling, and high-speed DDR interfaces.
• Use schematic-capture, layout constraints, simulation and timing analysis to produce robust digital CCA designs.
• Collaborate with Systems, Mechanical, Software, Firmware and Electrical teams; contribute to reviews and project execution.

What you'll own

• Design circuit card assemblies (CCAs) using mixed-signal technologies, including A/D and D/A conversion, processors, I/O communications and programmable logic such as FPGA and CPLD devices.
• Own the digital CCA design lifecycle: requirements generation, preliminary design, peer review, detailed design, test-plan development, integration and verification.
• Create schematics, functional and block diagrams, and electrical wiring diagrams spanning digital, analog, power and mixed-signal designs.
• Develop solutions using Xilinx FPGAs, TI DSPs, Freescale or Intel processors, microcontrollers, CPLDs and volatile or non-volatile memory, including DDRx, SRAM, ROM and Flash.
• Apply advanced board technologies such as HDI, Meg6 and back drilling, and design high-speed DDRx memory interfaces.
• Use schematic-capture, constraint-driven layout, simulation and timing-analysis tools to independently generate robust digital CCA solutions.
• Partner with Systems, Mechanical, Software, Firmware and Electrical Engineering teams and technicians; contribute to customer reviews and project execution.

Required qualifications PALM BAY, FLORIDA

• Active and current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph - required.
• Bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience; graduate degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience; or at least 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Demonstrated experience in digital and/or mixed-signal electrical hardware design and the end-to-end CCA development process.
• Ability to work independently, communicate technical decisions clearly and deliver against program cost and schedule milestones.
• Ability to work onsite in Palm Bay, Florida. Visa sponsorship is not available for this opportunity.
• Preferred technical background
• High-speed memory or network interfaces, protocols and associated signal-integrity considerations.
• High-complexity digital design techniques and devices, including FPGA/CPLD-based architectures.
• Hands-on hardware debugging using signal generators, logic analyzers and digital oscilloscopes.
• Experience leading a design team and negotiating practical solutions across Hardware, Software and Systems Engineering.
• A self-directed, collaborative working style suited to multidisciplinary integrated product teams.

Work structure and benefits

• Onsite position in Palm Bay, Florida, with occasional travel.
• 9/80 schedule: 80 hours across 9 working days, with every other Friday off.
• Base salary range of $88,500 - $164,500, plus a comprehensive full benefits package.
