Job description

Your opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.

Charles Schwab’s Retail Onboarding, Activation & Growth team owns the digital front door for millions of new clients, shaping how they begin—and grow—their financial journey with Schwab. We build and operate the enterprise platforms that power onboarding and digital account opening at scale, partnering closely with design, business, and technology teams to deliver seamless, trusted, and intuitive experiences.

We’re looking for a Digital Product Sr Specialist (individual contributor) who is equal parts product thinker and customer advocate—someone excited to translate client needs into meaningful digital solutions. In this role, you’ll help evolve Schwab’s onboarding and account‑open experiences, contributing to the future of financial services while making it easier for our retail clients to confidently plan for what’s next. Our clients are passionate about the tools we create—and you’ll play a key role in shaping what comes next.

Key Functions

Working hand in hand with an agile scrum team, the Product Sr Specialist supports user story creation, prioritization, grooming, UAT, and oversight for top digital client experiences, partnering with the Product Manager and development team as well as serving as the primary point of contact for production bugs and client escalations across the website and retail application.

The Product Sr Specialist must be a client advocate, understanding client personas and associated needs, help define questions for UX Research, and understand impacts of UX Design options. The ability to quickly learn complex technical systems and think outside the box when problem solving is critical to meeting the dynamic demands of the business.

What You’ll Do
  • You will support product vision and drive high quality technical execution for defined platform and cross-enterprise experiences
  • You will translate product vision into specific deliverables and ensure rigor in execution and attention to detail by effectively managing the product backlog
  • You will partner closely with a development scrum team to drive delivery toward key objectives and results
  • You will be at the forefront of evolving the way we work across teams and the company by practicing design thinking, outcome‑orientation, data‑driven decision making, and product experimentation
  • You will frame challenges as problems that are solved through critical thinking and collaboration
  • You will contribute to business impact by producing actionable insights and recommendations informed by high quality data analysis and metrics
  • You will build strong working relationships, collaborate effectively with a development scrum team, and partner with teams across the enterprise to support shared outcomes
  • You will support discovery and contribute to the development of client experience requirements in partnership with product, design, and research teams
  • You will support prioritization by contributing data, insights, and stakeholder input to inform backlog decisions
  • You will contribute to implementation planning by collaborating with the team to assess technical feasibility and sequencing dependencies
  • You will contribute innovative ideas informed by market analytics and interactions with stakeholders, clients, and prospects
  • You will champion Agile methodologies in daily stand‑up meetings, sprint planning sessions, backlog prioritization, user story preparation, and demos
  • You will work cross functionally with technical, design, business, and compliance counterparts to define product release requirements and investigate production issues as they arise
  • You will deeply understand the backend architecture associated with your experiences
  • You will perform and support data analysis, leveraging Adobe Analytics and Splunk
What you have
  • Hands‑on experience working in an agile environment, supporting backlog refinement, user story creation, sprint planning, UAT, and delivery execution, with a solid understanding of Agile and Lean product practices
  • Strong digital product execution skills, with experience supporting complex digital platforms and the ability to synthesize qualitative insights and quantitative data to inform day‑to‑day product decisions
  • Experience contributing to the development or enhancement of digital experiences, paired with a working understanding of underlying technologies, system integrations, and technical constraints
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with technology, design, research, analytics, service, marketing, and product partners to deliver high‑quality digital experiences
  • Strong listening and analytical skills, with the ability to understand business intent behind requirements, ask clarifying questions, and translate needs into clear, actionable product artifacts
  • Demonstrated client‑first mindset, with the emotional intelligence to partner effectively through ambiguity, feedback, and iterative change while keeping client outcomes front and center
  • Curiosity and a challenger mindset, with a willingness to question assumptions, explore better ways of working, and continuously learn in a fast‑moving, complex environment
  • Strong organizational and execution skills, including the ability to manage multiple workstreams (typically 1–2) in parallel, track progress, and follow through on commitments with minimal oversight
  • Experience operating within a large, matrixed organization, effectively navigating multiple stakeholders, dependencies, and shared ownership models
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts, surface risks and trade‑offs, and document decisions to support alignment and execution
  • Familiarity with financial services concepts or regulatory considerations with the ability to partner effectively with compliance and risk stakeholders
  • Experience using digital analytics tools to assess performance and inform decisions; Adobe Analytics experience
