Job Summary

As the Sr. Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting in the successful operation of the Culinary Department for a senior living facility. You will assist in the supervision, preparation, and cooking of various food items, scheduling, ordering, hiring, quality control, upholding company systems and procedures, developing daily menu items and their preparation and garnishment. You may be responsible for supervising hourly associates and working with the Executive Chef to develop new menus and assist with ordering. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, entrepreneurial culinary professional.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with managing cost controls and expenditures for the account
  • Assist with planning and creating menus
  • Produce and execute catering events
  • Implement new culinary programs in collaboration with Company marketing and culinary team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Culinary Arts degree or culinary certificate
  • Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training
  • Catering experience is a plus
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable
  • Experience with institutional and batch cooking
  • Knowledge of current food and catering trends, focusing on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and internet
  • Willingness to participate in patient satisfaction programs/activities
  • ServSafe certification
