Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Senior Sonographer in Ohio to provide diagnostic ultrasound services including echocardiograms and vascular studies. The role involves active participation in quality assurance programs and lab accreditation, under supervision of the team lead and medical director.

A 40-hour week shift is typical, with day shifts and the candidate must be registered in cardiac or vascular sonography.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is Required.
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association.
• RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Specialized knowledge includes two-year allied health program and RDCS or RCS registry eligibility with registry obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound imaging (approx. 50%).
• Prepares required reports (approx. 20%).
• Reviews echocardiogram results with physicians and performs QA activities (approx. 10%).
• Coordinates QA and audits with Team Leads (approx. 10%).
• Training and precepting other sonographers as needed (approx. 5%).
• Maintains files (approx. 5%).

Job Description Summary

$15,000 SIGN-ON BONUS
External applicants may be eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus with a one-year work commitment. Previously employed applicants who have been gone from the organization more than 90 days may also be eligible.

The Senior Sonographer is responsible for proficiently performing all diagnostic tests such as echocardiograms, vascular studies, all research protocols, advanced quantification studies and follow-up paperwork for each procedure as determined by regular quality evaluation from team lead and medical director. Has regular involvement and leadership role in the implementation and execution of the lab’s QI program as required for accreditation.

This is a Monday-Friday, day shift position. Candidate must be registered in cardiac or vascular sonography.

Acts as resource for others internal and external to the department. Displays caring, courteous behavior in dealing with patients and their families, coworkers, physicians, and guests of the facility.

• 50% Performs ultrasound imaging.
