We offer a revolutionary approach to nighttime glucose control for those unable or unwilling to use traditional insulin pumps. Our solution combines the world's smallest patch pump with a first-of-its-kind closed-loop insulin dosing algorithm, automatically adjusting insulin doses overnight to help users start their days feeling refreshed and worry-free.

The role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Software Test Engineer to join our team, reporting to the Director of Software Engineering. Your role involves improving software quality through manual and automated testing across the entire software development lifecycle for our mobile apps, firmware, and cloud services. This includes integrating automated tests into development pipelines and establishing efficient bug resolution processes.

You will adopt a holistic approach to software quality, helping shape the testing strategy. This entails testing code changes early and often to enhance quality and reduce development burdens. Success requires strong technical skills and soft skills.

Please note that this is an on-site role, and you must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of our San Diego, CA location.

Responsibilities

1. Test Development and Validation
2. Design, develop, execute, and maintain system integration tests
3. Ownership of test plans and validation strategies for software releases
4. Maintain the continuous integration environment
5. Define manual system tests for functionality assessment
6. Automate GUI screenshot testing based on specifications
7. Automate Bluetooth testing for medical device peripherals
8. Analyze test results, debug issues, and ensure quality
9. Maintain and validate compatibility with new iOS releases and devices
10. Perform regression testing and validate open-source package updates
11. Monitor for product and data quality issues during testing and clinical trials
12. Qualify new development tools (e.g., Xcode, Android Studio)

What you bring

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
2. 5+ years of software testing experience
3. Expertise in writing Cucumber tests in Gherkin for iOS applications
4. Experience in regulated industries (medical, government, etc.)
5. Knowledge of software verification and validation protocols
6. Cross-functional collaboration skills
7. Familiarity with test frameworks for iOS/Swift, Google Cloud, Node.js, Android/Kotlin
