Sony Interactive Entertainment (PlayStation) has an exciting career opportunity! We are looking for a Sr. Software Quality Engineer in Test who will be responsible for driving the effort to research and develop the next level of testing of PlayStation's testing technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Write and coordinate test plans, processes, samples, and documentation with our global software development. Complete test cases to ensure quality for new and existing features.
  • Facilitate communication and feedback between software engineers and quality engineering teams, capturing testing requirements for the tools and infrastructure that will tackle future test automation challenges.
  • Lead day-to-day activities of test engineering team using Agile/Scrum methodology, potentially as scrum master.
  • Testing– the study and practice a variety of test techniques and methodologies, and are familiar with prominent voices in the online testing community.
  • Review product requirements and technical design documents to understand how the feature works on the PlayStation console and off console and create effective testing strategies
  • Collaborate with distributed teams for multi-functional test plan design and execution
  • Passionate about Quality and strive to improve processes,
  • Generate new standards, and drive their usage within the teams.
  • Test automation– an interest in test automation to a level where pros and cons of various automation approaches are shown.
  • Agile software development – understand the common methodologies and can articulate how a strong tester can best support their team in that context
  • Participate in recruitment to further develop the team. Foster their professional development.
  • Coach and mentor junior & senior level engineers cross organization to help raise the bar in innovation, efficiency and technical capability.
  • Build an inclusive environment dedicated towards creativity and innovation.
Qualifications
  • At least eight years of professional testing experience.
  • 5+ years or equivalent experience in QA methodologies and experience developing and executing comprehensive test suites for system software.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Experienced on leading projects on multi platform is a plus.
  • Practical experience using development and deployment tools: Git, Jenkins, Docker
  • Experience with test case management systems & JIRA database systems
  • Experience with automation using any programming language: Java, Python, etc
  • Experience using source control (esp. Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins or Circle CI)
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using project and test case management tools.

  • Ability to work quickly, productively, and independently in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team with minimum direction with strong work ethic
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Ability to present technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate problems in advance and tackle them rather than responding to them afterwards.

Nice to Have

The following technical qualifications are a plus (but not required):

  • Experience with at least one modern web application framework, preferably React
  • Experience developing or testing a non-PC device (phone/game console/set-top box, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience testing APIs and Service Oriented architecture
  • Machine learning, Game development, Mobile and PC app development background.
  • Experience with AI/ML

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
