Position Profile

Schneider Electric is a global leader in enterprise energy management systems. We are looking for a new team member to help us advance our cloud-based energy management and information systems. As a member of this team, you will work on strategic projects delivering world-class enterprise software systems to a wide variety of customers.

We seek a passionate and creative senior software tester with extensive Web software quality assurance experience to join our agile team of Business Analysts, Developers, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Support. This role is crucial for high-quality and frequent deliveries of our cloud-based energy management system.

The Sr. Software Tester will primarily review and analyze requirements and system specifications, create and execute (manual/automated) test cases, review results, report, and document technical issues to ensure client requirements are met. The candidate must aim to deliver high-quality software that is scalable, performant, interoperable, and secure, aligned with client needs and business goals.

Responsibilities & Key Tasks

• Analyze user stories/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility
• Develop effective test strategies and plans
• Design, create, and manage test cases
• Design and develop automation scripts as needed
• Execute test cases for all testing levels (system, integration, regression)
• Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies
• Reproduce, troubleshoot, verify fixes for customer-reported issues
• Apply quality assurance principles throughout the Agile product lifecycle
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

• 5+ years of experience in software testing with a focus on test automation
• Experience with automated test frameworks for web and API testing
• Hands-on experience with tools like Playwright, Cypress, or WebdriverIO
• Strong understanding of API testing with Postman, REST Assured, or Pact
• Solid programming skills; ability to write maintainable automation code
• Ability to adapt quickly to different programming languages, especially JavaScript or TypeScript
• Ability to write and execute E2E and regression automated test cases
• Knowledge of best coding practices, version control (Git), and test strategies
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, Xray, TestRail)
• Ability to work independently and drive quality improvements
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with developers, product teams, and stakeholders

Desirable:

• Experience with performance testing tools like k6, JMeter, or Locust
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
• Knowledge of contract testing (Pact)
• Experience with database testing (SQL Server, Cosmos DB)
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and testing security vulnerabilities
• Experience working with distributed teams and remote stakeholders

Location:

• This role is hybrid onsite (2 days/week). Preferred locations are Louisville, KY, Nashville, or Dallas.
• Remote candidates will not be considered.
