Position Profile

Schneider Electric is a global leader in enterprise energy management systems. We are looking for a new team member to help us advance our cloud-based energy management and information systems. As part of this team, you will work on strategic projects delivering world-class enterprise software systems to a diverse customer base.

We seek a passionate and creative senior software tester with extensive Web software quality assurance experience to join our agile team of Business Analysts, Developers, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Support. This role is crucial for ensuring high-quality and frequent deliveries of our cloud-based energy management system.

The Sr. Software Tester will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing requirements and system specifications, creating and executing (manual/automated) test cases, reviewing results, and reporting technical issues to ensure client requirements are met. The candidate must aim to deliver high-quality software that is scalable, performant, interoperable, and secure, aligning with client needs and business goals.

Responsibilities & Key Tasks

1. Analyze user stories/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility
2. Develop effective test strategies and plans
3. Design, create, and manage test cases
4. Design and develop automation scripts as needed
5. Execute test cases for all testing levels (system, integration, regression)
6. Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies
7. Reproduce, troubleshoot, verify fixes for customer-reported issues
8. Apply quality assurance principles throughout the Agile product lifecycle
9. Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

1. 5+ years of experience in software testing with a focus on test automation
2. Experience with automated test frameworks for web and API testing
3. Hands-on experience with tools like Playwright, Cypress, or WebdriverIO
4. Strong understanding of API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or Pact
5. Solid programming skills for maintainable automation code
6. Ability to write and execute E2E automated and regression test cases
7. Knowledge of best coding practices, version control (Git), and test strategies
8. Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, Xray, TestRail)
9. Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive quality improvements
10. Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and analytical skills
11. Strong communication skills for collaboration with developers and stakeholders
12. Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter, k6, or Locust
13. Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
14. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
15. Exposure to contract testing (Pact) and database testing (SQL Server, Cosmos DB)
16. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and testing security vulnerabilities
17. Experience working with distributed teams and remote stakeholders
