The Staff Engineer will partner closely with the CTO and senior engineering leaders to define architectural direction, establish integration patterns and standards, and deliver production-grade systems that safely support future growth and change.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Design, build, and own a fault-tolerant integration platform that enables asynchronous communication and loose coupling across enterprise systems.
  • Establish and maintain core infrastructure that allows applications and components to be incrementally modernized or replaced without disrupting the broader ecosystem.
  • Develop and steward shared services and libraries that make reliability, observability, and resilience default capabilities across all platforms.
  • Define and enforce clear system boundaries and interface contracts that support long-lived platforms, safe evolution, and continuous change
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related degree.

  • Experience designing systems intended to be used by other engineering teams as a platform
  • Comfort working in environments with legacy systems, imperfect data, and evolving requirements
  • Proven ability to reason about complex systems and make pragmatic tradeoffs
SKILLS
  • Experience with BEAM-based systems (Elixir/Erlang/OTP) at scale
  • Familiarity with healthcare, regulated environments, or other high-reliability domains
  • Experience designing migration and strangler patterns for large systems
  • Background in observability tooling and production incident response
