Uber is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Fullstack to join the Courier Booking Experience team in New York City. You will own end‑to‑end features across web platforms, focusing on modernizing the consumer booking flow and improving conversion for diverse users.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, and cross‑functional partners, write robust code in TypeScript and Go, mentor peers, and help set engineering standards for testability, monitoring, and performance.

About The Team

Uber Courier is one of the fastest growing businesses at Uber. It is an on-demand C2C package delivery service used by small businesses and consumers. We have recently crossed $1B in ARR and are still scratching the surface. The product is popular in Brazil & India and has a lot of headroom to grow in EMEA and US&C. Aside from core send & receive packages workflows, the product has many other use cases such as store pick-ups, package returns, intercity deliveries (in Brazil), etc., as well as new use cases we're piloting where a courier can be delegated tasks during the span of a delivery trip. The tech team is spread across US & India.

Senior Software Engineering - Fullstack

This role sits on the Courier Booking Experience team, contributing to modernizing the consumer booking flow, improving user comprehension and conversion, and building a delightful and intelligent experience catering to different user segments' needs. The team operates with a high degree of trust and autonomy - engineers own their area end‑to‑end, push back on each other's designs in review, and hold a high bar. We like working with people who care about the craft as much as the outcome.

About The Role

Engineering at Uber means building for real‑world impact under real‑world constraints. As a Fullstack Senior Software Engineer with rich front-end experience, you'll work on a fullstack product engineering team, helping drive a multi-quarter strategy to build cross‑platform foundations for a C2C/C2B product - defining technical goals, collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams, and solving meaningful business problems with well‑reasoned technical solutions.

You'll own your area end‑to‑end: identifying opportunities to solve meaningful problems, breaking them into solvable pieces, defining technical solution deliverables, upholding engineering operational excellence, writing technical design docs, and debugging production issues when the stakes are high. We're looking for someone who is not just technically capable but has the agency to drive things forward, wearing different hats as needed to get there.

What You'll Do

• Build a checkout platform in GoWeb designed to be portable across multiple surfaces and apps (mobile and desktop web).
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Science, Ops, and mobile/backend engineers to translate ambiguous business problems into roadmap deliverables.
• Contribute to defining the strategy and prioritization that maximizes team‑level efficiency in execution and shipping production impact.
• Spot engineering or architectural gaps early, propose solutions, and help set standards for monitoring, testing, and alerting, then help the team live up to them consistently.
• Contribute to key frameworks and role‑model strong coding practices and thoughtful design review within the team.
• Mentor other engineers and help build strong working relationships with partner teams.

Basic Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional fullstack software engineering experience - rich front‑end technology experience on the web with backend experience preferred.
• Experience working with web technologies such as TypeScript, Tailwind, GoLang, etc.
• Track record of writing high‑quality code to solve strategically important problems, including ones with cross‑team dependencies.
• Strong foundation in software design principles, architectural tradeoffs, and engineering best practices, with a track record of sound engineering/business tradeoffs.
• Experience driving a technical initiative through its full lifecycle - from inception and stakeholder alignment through implementation and post‑launch iteration.
• Experience contributing to or improving testing, monitoring, and alerting standards for production systems.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with experience getting alignment across teams on technical directions.
• Strong analytical skills to drive data‑driven decisions and size the impact of problems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Great product sense and taste in UI/UX.
• Experience working in large companies.
• Past experience working in Golang with web technologies.

For New York City, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $202,000 per year - USD $224,000 per year.

You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full‑time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
