We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Digital Insights Data Engineering team. You will contribute to our content delivery platform for moodys.com, support multiple engineering teams, lead technological transformation, and develop scalable, cloud-native solutions. Your role involves analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation, focusing on timely delivery, issue escalation, and knowledge sharing through code reviews, workshops, and documentation. The Work:

1. Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Snowflake, Apache Airflow, dbt (SQL), and Python with AWS services.
2. Support and improve the data platform through tuning, upgrades, and process controls.
3. Provide guidance and operational support for deploying database scripts across environments.
4. Collaborate with technical teams and business owners during design and implementation.
5. Manage individual tasks effectively.
6. Work with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement solutions.

The Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; master’s preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or software development leadership.
• Hands-on experience with data pipelines, ETL, and data integration.
• Knowledge of Airflow DAG management, scheduling, monitoring, and data quality practices.
• Experience developing data pipelines with Airflow, including custom operators and plugins.
• Familiarity with software development across Agile teams, and ability to communicate technical ideas clearly.
• Strong skills in database engineering, especially Postgres SQL, DynamoDB, Snowflake.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with AWS databases and cloud technologies such as ECS, Lambda, Aurora, API Gateway, VPC, DynamoDB, Redshift.
• Knowledge of data quality, governance, object-oriented programming, and architectural patterns.
• Experience with tools like Git, Jira, Jenkins, and data technologies like Spark, Kafka, Kinesis.
• Development experience with Java, Scala, PySpark, and cloud storage solutions.

For US-based roles, the salary range is $132,600 - $192,300, depending on experience and other factors. This role includes incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
