Job summary

Insight Global in Orlando is seeking a senior software/cloud engineer to design and implement reliable, high-throughput, low-latency code and scalable cloud infrastructure components. You will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and partners to propose efficient solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering, DevOps, cloud, or platform roles.
• Strong AWS networking experience.
• Hands-on with IaC and cloud tooling.
• Experience with data tooling (Datadog, Snowflake, Airflow, DBT).
• Proficiency in TS/Java or other strongly typed languages.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement reliable, high-throughput, low-latency cloud components.

• Mentor teammates and participate in code reviews.

Design and implement reliable, high-throughput, low latency, scalable and well-documented code to tackle sophisticated algorithms and build cloud infrastructures componentsCollaborate with engineers, data scientists, and other partners to make proposals across teams on their engineering work and practicesDesign low-level implementation details of software, which data structures, class/function/code organization, etc.Propose technical implementation approaches which support architectural changes that address scaling and performance problemsProactively seek opportunities to reuse or generalize existing services and implementationsKnow the latest new technologies and best approaches in the field of data management and software engineeringProvide technical mentorship and guidance to other members of the teamConduct code review pull-requests with consistent scrutiny

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience in a software engineering or devops engineer or cloud engineer or platform engineer role.

• AWS networking
• AWS CDK, CDKTF, or Pulumi
• Deep object oriented programming experience
• Datadog
• Snowflake
• Airflow
• DBT
• Proficiency in at least one of the following language: Typescript, Java, or another strongly typed language
• Understanding of trade-offs between different data storage systems and architectures (data warehouses, SQL vs NoSQL, partitioning, etc.)
