This is a senior technical leadership opportunity focused on designing, developing, and modernizing sophisticated enterprise software systems.
You will remain highly hands-on, with significant coding responsibilities while providing technical direction to engineering teams and partners.
The role combines software architecture, microservices, workflow orchestration, production reliability, and technology modernization.
You will influence technology strategy, establish reusable engineering practices, and help reduce technical debt across complex application environments.
The position requires close collaboration with architects, vendors, business stakeholders, and multidisciplinary technology teams.
You will also lead critical incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and long-term improvements that strengthen system reliability and quality.
This fully remote role offers broad organizational visibility and the opportunity to shape technology direction in a healthcare-focused environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the technical delivery and guidance of complex projects and programs across an application family, ensuring alignment with strategic technology priorities.
  • Design, architect, develop, and maintain sophisticated software solutions while remaining highly hands‑on with coding and implementation.
  • Collaborate with multiple vendor partners to establish project estimates, delivery plans, timelines, technical expectations, and quality standards.
  • Ensure the technological integrity and overall quality of vendor‑delivered solutions across concurrent projects and programs.
  • Drive technology modernization initiatives, including technical debt reduction, process improvements, and optimization of existing application environments.
  • Partner with enterprise architects to influence decisions regarding the adoption, retirement, and evolution of technologies within the broader architecture.
  • Develop and promote engineering best practices, reusable components, standards, and guidelines that improve consistency and technology utilization.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced engineers, supporting knowledge sharing and capability development across internal and partner teams.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for complex components of the application environment and provide high-level technical expertise across interconnected technology systems.
  • Lead response to critical production incidents, troubleshooting efforts, and root‑cause analyses while driving sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Represent the technology organization in cross‑functional and vendor partner settings, translating complex technical concepts for stakeholders at different organizational levels.
  • Take ownership of special projects and strategic initiatives with significant organizational visibility and impact.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred, with equivalent professional experience considered.
  • 12-15 years of relevant software engineering experience, including at least 3-5 years in a senior, principal, or comparable technical leadership position.
  • Extensive hands‑on development experience with .NET Unified Platform V8 and .NET Framework 4.8.
  • Experience implementing workflow orchestration engines within microservice‑based software architectures; experience with Camunda Cloud is preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of software engineering principles, theories, architecture patterns, and technical practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement innovative solutions aligned with complex organizational objectives.
  • Strong experience with Agile software development methodologies and multidisciplinary technology teams.
  • Extensive experience working within vendor‑partner models, including technical oversight, collaboration, delivery management, and quality assurance.
  • Strong customer orientation and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • An innovation‑oriented mindset with the curiosity and adaptability to evaluate emerging technologies and improve existing systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving capabilities, including experience conducting root‑cause analysis for complex production issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing environments, and deliver against demanding project deadlines.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work outside standard hours when critical project deadlines or production issues require additional support.
