Job Summary

Job Description

The Sr. LIMS Software Engineer is responsible for designing, coding, testing, reviewing, maintaining, and developing Medline’s STARLIMS LIMS application. This includes implementing new features, managing change controls, and fixing bugs or errors within the STARLIMS Application. The engineer will evaluate how LIMS can be improved, streamlined, and integrated with other software, services, and solutions. Effective communication and collaboration with LIMS stakeholders, IT teams, and other cross-functional lab teams are essential, both in layman and technical terms.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable lab software solutions for LIMS.
2. Lead efforts to streamline and improve efficiencies in LIMS and related software and services.
3. Evaluate systems, servers, networking, and other applications associated with LIMS to ensure proper design, organization, and efficient operation.
4. Perform coding exclusively for STARLIMS to maintain existing environments (DEV, TEST, PROD) by adding features, managing changes, and fixing bugs.
5. Understand, execute, and document various testing types including scripted, unscripted, exploratory, error-guessing, integration, and verification testing.
6. Mentor LIMS Software Engineers.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 4 years of experience as a LIMS Software Engineer or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Effective communication with LIMS stakeholders
• Experience building moderate to complex SQL queries

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with STARLIMS ELN 12.3 (a bonus)
• Experience operating STARLIMS with Azure
• STARLIMS coding experience
• Knowledge of lab environments
• Experience building, configuring, and maintaining LIMS servers and related services throughout the product lifecycle

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range is $132,600.00 - $199,160.00 annually, with actual salary based on location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. The role is bonus and incentive eligible.
