Job summary

Public Consulting Group LLC (PCG) is seeking an experienced software engineer to design and implement complex applications, solving technical challenges and driving best practices across the development lifecycle.

The role involves planning, developing, testing, and documenting software per specifications, collaborating with the Delivery Manager, and participating in code reviews. The position supports remote work with some travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Relevant Bachelor's degree required with a Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Systems major preferred.
• 10 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, tests, documents and implements software according to specifications and industry best practices.
• Converts functional specifications into technical specifications suitable for code development.
• Works with Delivery Manager to evaluate user’s requests for new or modified computer programs to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system, and computer capabilities.
• Follows coding and documentation standards.
• Participate in code review process.
• Collaborates with End Users to Troubleshoot IT Questions and Generate Reports
• Analyzes, reviews and alters program to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
• Understands Special Education and Response to Intervention models.
• Implements complex Reports.
• Implements complex Interfaces.
• Configures & deploys applications in all environments
• Provides necessary knowledge transfer to support and services organizations
• Continuously looks for ways to improve effectiveness and efficiency allowing us to provide a higher quality product in less time.
• Provides technical assistance to less experienced team members.
• Trains and assists less experienced peers, as needed.

• System/application design, web and client-server technology
• Excellent communication skills, experience working with non-technical staff to understand requirements necessary
• Working knowledge of object-oriented language

Working Conditions

Office Setting This position is remote with travel/onsite requirements. Compensation

Compensation: Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave. Range: $105,000 - $130,000 PCG does not sponsor newly hired foreign national workers for work authorization, including H-1B sponsorship.
