Blue Yonder is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Sr Java Backend) in Dallas, TX with hybrid in-office presence. You will join an Azure cloud-based data platform team, delivering scalable microservices, event-driven architectures, and secure deployments.

Expect collaboration across global teams and a focus on high-quality software with secure coding practices. The role requires 8+ years in software development, strong Java/Spring Boot, and cloud experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (STEM preferred) and minimum 8 years of software development experience.
• Ability to debug and diagnose issues in complex enterprise applications.
• Hands-on proficiency in Java Spring Boot, Python Bash, web technologies (HTML, CSS, XML, JSON).
• Familiarity with GitHub, GitHub Actions, DevSecOps concepts, virtualization, and cloud computing (Azure).

Responsibilities

• Develop quality software following clean code principles and Blue Yonder standards.
• Participate in backlog grooming, planning, stand-ups and retrospectives.
• Translate business requirements into user stories and seek stakeholder feedback.
• Lead designs of individual stories and convert designs to subtasks.
• Ensure information security practices in coding and reviews.
• Stay updated with latest tech trends and act as a subject-matter expert.
• Mentor engineers and guide day-to-day operations.

Overview: Blue Yonder has the ideal opportunity for a Staff Software Engineer to join our Azure Cloud based Data Platform Team. We are seeking an individual that has a strong technical foundation in Java, REST APIs, Microservices, Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), Kubernetes, Kafka, Event Hubs, Elasticsearch, Snowflake

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Core responsibilities include focusing on innovation and improving delivery effectiveness by driving product development features across the organization in software development, deployment, and infrastructure consistency.
• Provide standardized enterprise solutions for cloud infrastructure and application deployment across multiple products.
• Apply the appropriate software engineering patterns utilizing a meta-driven systems approach to build robust and scalable systems.
• Expert in OO and Functional programming and the ability to apply your skills in developing Blue Yonder products.
• Influence fellow engineers by proposing software designs, providing feedback on software designs and/or implementation.
• Experienced problem-solving skills that can help the team in triaging operational issues.
• You will leverage your expertise in eliminating repeat occurrences.
• The team currently comprises of global associates across US, Canada, India, and Germany and is expected to grow.
• The incumbent will need to be a quick learner.

Technical Environment

• Software/Tools: Java, Python, Groovy, GitHub, Node.js, React.js, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Codacy, Checkmarx, GitHub Advance Security, Black Duck Hub, BlazeMeter, Artifactory, Ansible, Docker, etc.
• Application Architecture: Scalable, Resilient, event driven, secure multi-tenant Microservices architecture.
• Cloud Architecture: MS Azure (ARM templates, AKS, Virtue Networks, Event Hub, Azure AD).
• Frameworks/Others: Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spark, NOSQL, RDBMS, Spring Boot, Snowflake.

What you’ll do

• Develop quality software (including effective unit test code) according to clean code principles and Blue Yonder standards.
• Participate in team activities such as backlog grooming, planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Translate business requirements to user stories and actively seeks feedback by the stakeholders.
• Takes the lead in designs of individual stories and translates the design to subtasks.
• Considers aspects of information security while coding and reviewing other's code.
• Keeps up to date with technology and research latest trends in the industry.
• Is perceived as the expert in a small designated technical area and is the go-to person for related implementational and operational issues.
• Evaluate and coach other engineers on the technical and interpersonal best-practices.
• Provide support/guidance for day to day operations/systems.

What we are looking for

Bachelor’s degree (STEM preferred) and minimum 8 years of experience in Software development.

Ability to debug and diagnose issues in complex enterprise applications.

Hands-On experience and Proficiency in below Technical skills: Java Spring Boot, Python Bash, Web Technologies (HTML, CSS, XML, JSON), Object Oriented Design (OOD), Linux/Unix & Windows Platform.

Must have: GitHub, GitHub Actions, DevSecOps domain knowledge, Intermediate understanding of virtualization, private, hybrid and public cloud computing concepts, Intermediate understanding in key areas such as Cloud Services such as IaaS, PaaS and SaaS on major cloud hosting platforms (Azure).

Annual Compensation Range

Annual Compensation Range: $ 114,103.81 - $ 143,896.18
