Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer at its facility located at 540 W Madison St #310, Chicago, IL 60661. Responsibilities include performing programming, project management, and development assignments independently, working on complex application and technical problems, and supporting applications and systems used by multiple teams. The role involves mentoring software engineers, maintaining high standards of software quality, and communicating with end users and internal customers to ensure accurate, interoperable, and complete software solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Driving application development focused on delivering valuable features.
2. Performing integrated testing and customer acceptance testing.
3. Managing work assignments independently and coordinating with team members.
4. Engaging with customers including Caterpillar dealers, external companies, and internal business units.
5. Quickly identifying and solving problems, setting priorities, and developing new approaches to meet quality goals.

Minimum requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field, plus 5 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree plus 2 years of experience.
2. Experience with automating and implementing identity and security policies for cloud infrastructure (AWS).
3. Experience with tools administration supporting large organizations.
4. Proficiency in designing and developing software applications in Python.
5. Experience working in enterprise cloud environments and understanding information security concepts within cloud technologies.

This position allows for 100% telecommuting.

Summary Pay Range: $126,755.00 - $179,640.00
