The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000 - $375,000, plus bonus eligibility and other elements of our total rewards package. Compensation depends on location, skills, experience, and education. In addition to base pay, BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Position Overview:

A Network Engineer in this role is an automation expert who collaborates with customers to solve technical and operational challenges. They develop automated solutions for modern networks efficiently to meet customer demands.

Experience Requirements:

• 6+ years supporting large-scale global production networks.
• Hands-on experience managing hybrid cloud networks using AWS and/or Azure.

Basic Qualifications:

• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Experience designing and building large-scale networks.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for remote teamwork.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in network engineering.
• Experience with Switching and Routing Protocols (Spanning Tree, OSPF, BGP, VXLAN).
• Knowledge of Infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Programming skills in Python or Go.
• Experience with automation using device APIs, Linux, Git, Jenkins, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Experience with network operating systems (Cisco IOS, SONiC, Arista EoS, Panorama, PanOS).
• Knowledge of Load Balancing Technologies (F5, VMware AVI).
• Firewall policy management experience.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to secure employment authorization without future sponsorship requirements.
• Experience in transportation industries such as Rail, Shipping, Airline, Logistics, Warehousing, Supply Chain.
