Job summary

SAS in Cary, NC is seeking a Senior Software Developer with strong Golang skills to design, develop, and maintain scalable data-access services in a hybrid work model.

You will work with Kubernetes, CI/CD, relational databases, and participate in open-source initiatives and documentation.

The role emphasizes security, collaboration with product managers, and delivering within SLAs while aligning with SAS standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 8+ years of experience as a developer on large software projects.
• Experience developing applications in a containerized environment like Kubernetes.
• Experience writing Golang, Java, or a similar language.
• Experience with Relational Databases.
• Experience with integration, regression, and unit testing.
• Experience using Agile development practices.
• Experience operating in a CI/CD environment.
• Experience with Liquibase and/or other database schema management and migration tools.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications with data persistence.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops high quality, testable and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.
• Actively involves other project stakeholders to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with R&D standards.
• Participates in project scoping and scheduling; tracks progress of tasks and alerts stakeholders of issues blocking completion.
• Ensures quality through functional, unit and performance testing; reviews test plans and updates as needed.
• Maintains accountability for the entire life cycle of the code for internal and external consumers.
• Authors design and technical documentation with technical writers for internal and external audiences.
• Participates in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
• Follows security policies to support SAS's secure software development goals.

As aSeniorSoftware Developer,we are looking for someone who:

Required qualifications:
