Job summary

SAS, a leader in data and AI, seeks a SaaS Senior Software Developer to help deliver a world-class SaaS portfolio. The Developer Experience Group builds the framework and tools to improve SaaS delivery and accelerate development.

You will design, develop, test, and scale SaaS solutions, collaborating with managers, developers and product managers, and contributing to open-source projects. The role requires a CS degree and extensive SaaS and cloud experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related quantitative field.
• Typically requires eight years of software development experience and language familiarity.
• Strong understanding of deploying SaaS on AWS and Azure.
• Experience with Terraform, Kustomize, Helm, Bash.
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes and ECS).
• Equivalent combination may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality, testable, and scalable SaaS software deployment solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.
• Actively involve other project stakeholders (e.g. managers, developers, product managers) to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with established R&D standards.
• Participate in project scoping and scheduling; track progress of individual tasks and alert stakeholders of issues blocking or preventing completion of them.
• Maintain accountability for the entire life cycle of the code including support for both internal and external consumers.
• Be encouraged to participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
• Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

The Developer Experience Group is looking for a SaaS Senior Software Developer to help deliver a world-class SaaS portfolio. Our team builds the framework and tools to make sure SaaS is done the right way. We believe in always improving, automating everything, and going above and beyond to accelerate development and delivery.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in how we build, ship, test, and scale our SaaS Solutions.

As a SaaS Software Engineer, you will:

• Design and develop high-quality, testable, and scalable SaaS software deployment solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.
• Activelyinvolve other project stakeholders (e.g. managers, developers, product managers) to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with established R&D standards.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related quantitative field.
• Typically requires eight years of software development/programming experience. Experience programming in specific language(s) related to area of assignment may be required.
• Strong understanding of deploying and managing SaaS software on Public Cloud providers, specifically AWS and Azure.
• Experience with Terraform, Kustomize, Helm, Bash programming.
• Experience with container orchestration systems (Kubernetes and ECS).
• Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
