GE Vernova is seeking a remote Project Manager to lead software development projects for diverse customers across the United States. You will coordinate staff and subcontractors, manage risks, and ensure successful delivery while aligning with industry standards and customer expectations.

The role requires 3–5 years of project management experience in software projects, familiarity with Jira/Trello/Asana/Primavera P6, and preferred PMP or PMI-ACP certifications.

Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years of experience in project management for software development projects.
• Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Trello, Asana, Primavera P6.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or PMI-ACP (PMI Agile Certified Practitioner) certification preferred.
• Certifications in software development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) are a plus.
• Experience in the utility industry or with SCADA systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage customer-facing projects at various sites, including staff and subcontractors, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Serve as a best-practice resource and contribute to strategy and policy development within responsibility area.
• Apply expert knowledge to integrate with other domains and inform decision making.
• Use data analysis and internal/external sources to support recommendations and decisions.
• Lead small projects with moderate risks and resources, and explain complex information to stakeholders.
• Travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Plan and implement projects at various customer work sites in the US and abroad, including the activities of staff and subcontractors. The primary customer contact for the duration of each project. May commission, resolve specification issues, handle correspondence, provide periodic updates, ensure customer satisfaction, and negotiate/coordinate with staff as appropriate.
• Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
• Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
• Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Required Qualifications

• Batchelor Degree in Business, Computer Science, or Finance
• 3 - 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on software development projects
• 3 -5 years of experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana, Primavera P6)

Desired Characteristics

• Proven experience in managing customer-facing projects, preferably in the software industry
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or PMI-ACP (PMI Agile Certified Practitioner) certification preferred

• Certification in software development methodologies (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster, Kanban) is a plus
• Additional certifications related to the utility industry (e.g., Certified Energy Manager, NERC Certifications) are highly desirable

• Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills
• Experience in the utility industry, particularly with control room systems
• Knowledge of utility industry regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., NERC, FERC)
• Experience with utility industry-specific software (e.g., SCADA systems)

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
