Job summary

Yum! Brands is seeking a Sr. Security Engineer to join its Cybersecurity Engineering team, focused on web app security, cloud tech, and enterprise-scale engineering. Remote.

The role emphasizes designing, implementing, and optimizing WAF protections (Akamai preferred) and securing enterprise web apps and APIs against OWASP Top 10, DDoS, bots, and API attacks. Collaboration with multiple teams is key.

Qualifications

• Experience securing enterprise web applications and APIs.
• Knowledge of WAF technologies and DDoS protection.
• Experience with certificate management and production troubleshooting.
• Ability to script (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Security certifications such as CISSP, Security+ or Akamai certifications are a bonus.

Join Yum! Brands' Cybersecurity Engineering team and help protect one of the world's largest global digital platforms supporting KFC, Taco Bell, Habit Burger & Grill, and Yum! corporate brands. This role is ideal for a security professional passionate about web application security, cloud technologies, and enterprise-scale engineering.

• Design, implement, and optimize Web Application Firewall (WAF) protections using Akamai (or similar platforms).
• Secure enterprise web applications and APIs against modern cyber threats, including OWASP Top 10, DDoS, bots, and API attacks.
• Manage CDN configurations and public TLS certificate lifecycle.
• Investigate security incidents, tune security policies, and improve platform performance.

• Strong knowledge of HTTP/S, TLS/SSL, DNS, TCP/IP, CDN architecture, REST APIs, and web application security.
• Experience managing certificates, troubleshooting production environments, and responding to security incidents.
• Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash) is a plus.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, Security+, GSEC, or Akamai certifications are a bonus.

Salary Range: 117,800 - 147,600
