Tata Consultancy Services Limited in the United States is seeking an experienced QA/SDET to design, implement and maintain automated testing for backend services and web APIs. The role emphasizes REST Assured, Karate, and integrating test automation within CI pipelines in a fast-paced Agile environment.

You will collaborate with application architects on Internet and eCommerce projects, develop test plans, and ensure robust QA processes across the software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience of quality assurance and testing and automation.
• 2 years' experience in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Back end services automated testing with REST Assured and Karate.
• Experience with test tools like REST Assured and Supertest.
• Hands-on in setting up CI build environments (TeamCity, GitLab, or similar).
• Source control experience with GIT; familiarity with Jira.

• Participate in application technical design with Architects on Internet and eCommerce projects.
• Test web services using SOAP UI or similar tools.
• Develop, implement and maintain QA procedures, processes and best practices.
• Create and maintain test plans and test cases from functional and non-functional requirements.
• Identify test automation opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Job description

• 5 years' experience of quality assurance and testing as well as developing automation frameworks and automated tests


• 2 years' experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment


• Experience with back end services automated testing using frameworks such as such as REST Assured and Karate


• Experience with back end services automated testing tools such as REST Assured and Supertest


• Experience with application life cycle management tools. Atlassian Jira preferred


• Hands-on experience in setting up continuous integration (CI) build environments


• using TeamCity, Gitlab or a comparable solution


• Hands on experience in source control with GIT


• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks like J-Unit and Test NG


• Familiarity with containerization software such as Docker


• Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions


• Demonstrated experience designing and architecting scalable and resilient enterprise software


• Participate in the application technical design process with the Application Architects on Internet and eCommerce related development projects.


• Test web services using SOAP UI or any Service testing tools


• Knowledge of concepts of Queue, Topic, JSON, XML


• Participate in all phases of web services system testing.


• Develop, implement and maintain quality and test procedures, processes and best practices for QA.


• Develop and maintain test plan and test cases with associated test data based upon functional and non-functional requirements.


• Identify test automation opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of test services.


• Contribute to test automation scripting standards and best practices.


• Understand SOA Architecture.


• Write automation scripts and participate in peer reviews
