Job summary

Schindler Group in Boston seeks an Existing Installation (EI) Sales Account Manager to cultivate relationships with customers and drive service sales for elevators, escalators, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.

You will manage accounts, qualify needs, negotiate contracts, coordinate with field teams, monitor receivables, and pursue opportunities to meet revenue targets while delivering a superior customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or 5+ years of sales experience in the elevator industry.
  • Proven ability to build and manage client relationships.
  • Ability to negotiate contract terms and develop sales strategies.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and closing skills.
  • Willingness to travel and engage with customers and field teams.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage favorable client relationships within a designated sales territory to secure and renew service agreements.
  • Handle customer inquiries and ensure satisfactory resolution with a focus on revenue generation.
  • Meet regularly with clients to understand business requirements and develop solutions for property needs.
  • Manage accounts receivable for the assigned portfolio, ensuring timely payments.
  • Partner daily with Field Superintendent and technicians to drive lead generation and customer experience from initiation through delivery.
  • Identify and pursue sales opportunities, qualify needs, and negotiate contracts favorable to Schindler.

Your main responsibilities

As an Existing Installation (EI) Sales Account Manager at Schindler, you will cultivate relationships with customers to drive sales for elevator and escalator services, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. You will ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, identify and pursue sales opportunities, manage existing and new customer accounts, and retain customers. You will act as a liaison between the customer and Schindler to build strong, long-term relationships while leveraging industry knowledge to achieve sales targets.

Essential Functions
Customer Account Management
  • Build and manage favorable client relationships within a designated sales territory to secure and renew service agreements.
  • Handle customer inquiries and ensure satisfactory resolution with a focus on revenue generation.
  • Meet regularly with clients to understand their business requirements and develop solutions to meet the needs of their property.
  • Manage and oversee the accounts receivable of your assigned portfolio, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Communicate effectively with both customers and internal stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and achievement of sales objectives.
  • Partner daily with the Field Superintendent and technicians to drive lead generation and ensure an excellent total customer experience from initiation through delivery.
Sales & Opportunity Identification
  • Identify and pursue sales opportunities through key customer contacts and industry information.
  • Qualify customer needs to secure profitable solutions leveraging company products and services.
  • Introduce new technology and associated services to customers, clearly illustrating the value these products and services provide.
  • Negotiate contract terms favorable to the company while also delivering on customer requirements.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies that align with internal product strategies and competitive market conditions with minimal supervision.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Prepare estimates and communicate proposals with customers.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and files in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or 5+ years of sales experience in the elevator industry.
  • Proficient in building and managing client relationships.
  • Ability to handle challenging inquiries while ensuring satisfactory resolution with a focus on revenue generation.
  • Experienced in the ability to negotiate contract terms and develop sales strategies that align with the customers’ needs and Schindler values and are compliant with all regulations.
  • Effectively addresses and overcomes objections from clients in negotiations.
  • Proficient in closing deals and securing agreements when finalizing contracts.
  • Ability to independently identify and pursue sales opportunities, qualifying customers’ needs and introducing new services and technology.
  • Effective communication skills are required when communicating with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and the achievement of sales objectives.
  • Effective presentation skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, objection handling, and closing skills with a proven sales track record.
  • Ability to empathize, listen, and connect with people to form outstanding customer relationships.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Motivated, resilient, and customer-focused mindset with a strong character aligned with Schindler’s values.
  • Experience with SAP and a results-driven mindset to thrive in a competitive sales environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a mix of office and fieldwork, with flexibility for travel and managing customer interactions.

Base Salary $101,300 - $126,600

The above represents the typicalsalaryrange for this position. Revisions to the range may be considered based on your experience, education, location, demonstrated skills, and alignment with business priorities. Please note that the compensation listed reflects only basesalaryand does not include commissions or longer-term incentives.
