Job summary

General Motors' Autonomous Robotics Center (ARC) seeks a Senior Safety Process Engineer – AMR Design to lead safety architecture for autonomous mobile robot systems across the product lifecycle.

You will partner with software, controls, electrical, and product teams to translate safety requirements into engineering decisions, prepare for third‑party certification, and drive risk reduction and documentation rigor.

Remote-friendly with onsite weeks; travel <25%; relocation benefits may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
• Significant experience in functional safety and product safety engineering.
• Experience supporting safety for electromechanical systems and robotics.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC safety standards and certification processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of safety architecture for AMR systems across the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with software, controls, electrical, and product teams to embed safety-by-design.
• Own hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety requirement specifications.
• Lead safety reviews and document evidence for third-party certification.
