A leading company in the children’s apparel industry seeks a Senior Retail Planner in Denver. This role involves strategic planning management for high-volume accounts, financial accountability, and driving performance results. As a recognized leader in the children’s wear market, our client serves as the exclusive global licensee for some of the world’s most iconic brands, including Nike, Jordan, Converse, Hurley, Levi’s, Polo, Abercrombie and Fitch, Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, and Huggies.
Overview :
Our client is seeking a Senior Retail Planner to lead all aspects of strategic planning management for high-volume retail accounts. This individual will be financially accountable and play a key role in driving performance results.
Key Responsibilities :
Collaborate with the Sales team to forecast sales, margin, and inventory turnover by month, brand / division, account, customer, and size range
Validate planning assumptions and ensure alignment with internal and external sales and profitability targets
Analyze sales trends and open orders to make data-driven adjustments to forecasts
Project receipt flows and manage model stock levels to support sales, profit margin, and allowance goals
Apply insights from geographic and store-level performance to inform planning strategies
Monitor markdown-related sales to ensure margin performance and evaluate strategy effectiveness
Identify opportunities within brands, divisions, and individual accounts—including down to the store level
Provide planning direction to brick-and-mortar retail partners to ensure appropriate product flow and assortment depth
Prepare merchandise plans based on past purchases, category trends, space planning, and seasonal factors
Integrate sales forecasts into buying strategies, specifying quantities and timing
Recruit, train, and develop planning team talent
Supervise staff and provide leadership to support performance and results
Lead and support special projects as assigned
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of experience in Wholesale Planning and Analysis
Strong proficiency in Retail Math and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking ability
Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed
Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills with keen attention to detail
