Job description

The Department of Surgery is currently searching for an experienced Sr. Research Program Coordinator who will primarily support the work of surgeon-scientists working in the field of lung transplantation.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with research team on scientific implementation, daily operation, and data management of all research related activities.
  • Manage, support, coordinate and implement study specific tasks as required including recruitment, data collection, biospecimen shipping and tracking, regulatory submissions and site coordination and training for multi-center projects where JH serves as the biospecimen core.
  • Conduct study participant visits, including inpatient wards and outpatient clinics.
  • Maintain study level documentation for assigned studies.
  • Merge, create, and recode variables to prepare data for analyses.
  • Prepare documents, annual reports, and amendments required by the IRB and FDA.
  • Under the direction of surgeon principal investigators, determine patient study eligibility, obtain informed consent, and initiate patient randomization and enrollment.
  • Act as a liaison for various studies with sponsors, study monitors, patients and their primary care providers.
  • Participate in staff meetings to report on screening, recruitment, and data collection progress and resolve problems.
  • Work under the direction of the Principal Investigators and Director of Clinical Trials to ensure successful completion of clinical research projects.
  • May be required to travel to satellite locations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Three years related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: $41,300 - $72,300 Annually ($50,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

Total Rewards
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Johns Hopkins University’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, education/training and other qualifications. Education and Experience Equivalency
Please refer to the job description above to see which forms of equivalency are permitted for this position. If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
