Job description

We are seeking a Sr. Research Data Manager who will oversee the design, implementation, and management of research data for an assigned study.

This position will provide oversight over the data collection infrastructure for the AIDS Linked to the IntraVenousExperience (ALIVE) Study, an ongoing community-based observational cohort study of people who inject drugs based in the Baltimore area that has been ongoing without interruption since 1989. In collaboration with study PIs and staff, the Sr. Research Data Manager will play a central role in a comprehensive revamping of the study's data collection approaches and instruments to a flexible modular survey structure through REDCap that will allow for inclusion of new instruments, improve participant tracking capability and enhanced research activities. They will also oversee quality control and quality assurance activities in the cohort and develop codebooks for use by analysts and investigators and coordinate activities across the data and the clinical data collection teams. This position requires persistence, attention to detail, and a self‑motivated individual who can work independently and solve problems. It is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in modernizing a landmark longitudinal cohort study that has been at the forefront of research on HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, and substance use since 1988.
