Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore seeks a Sr. Research Data Manager to lead design, implementation and management of study data for the ALIVE study, a long-running cohort on HIV, hepatitis C and substance use.

You will modernize data collection via REDCap, develop modular surveys, create data dictionaries, ensure QA/QC, train staff, and collaborate with PIs to advance analyses for this landmark study.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• Five years of related experience
• Master’s degree may substitute experience or education per policy
• Preferred: Master’s Degree and REDCap experience
• Demonstrated experience with REDCap database design and implementation
• Experience managing complex, multi-component research studies
• Experience with data migration and system transitions

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage computerized systems for analysis of complex research data
• Database creation and management including data checking and cleaning, data dictionaries, merging data, creating variables
• Assure quality control of the research data and proper database design
• Write codes to collect data and perform analyses
• Analyze large and complex data sets using regression, longitudinal and nonparametric methods
• Present analyses in various formats; oral and written reports
• Collaborate with investigators to plan and implement analyses
• Maintain database-related management systems
• Keep abreast of methodology resources
• Contribute to statistical plans for grants
• Contribute to manuscripts and presentations
• Create and maintain databases for archiving analytic results
• Lead redesign of data collection framework using REDCap; develop modular surveys
• Train/retrain interviewers; ensure IRB compliance; maintain documentation
• Collaborate with staff and investigators; provide progress updates
