Job summary

Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions Inc. is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our growing team.

The role is based in Boise, ID, Santa Clara, CA, or Plano, TX, and is full-time with hybrid work expectations. You will drive regulatory compliance across RoHS, REACH, WEEE, PFAS, and Conflict Minerals, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure our networking products meet global standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing restricted substances regulations for electronic or IT equipment (ITE) devices.
  • Ability to analyze Bills of Materials and collect supplier data for REACH, RoHS, and other global materials regs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience with RoHS in markets beyond EU/US (e.g., China, Middle East, South Asia/Australia) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Proposition 65, Conflict Minerals reporting, or WEEE is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure RoHS (2+3), REACH, WEEE, PFAS, and Conflict Minerals compliance for products and accessories.
  • Own EPR reporting and fee payments.
  • Analyze technical and legal documents and translate requirements for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across functions to improve environmental performance and compliance processes.
  • Partner with Purchasing and suppliers to remove restricted substances on timelines.
  • Support corrective actions and drive follow-up.
  • Communicate with external stakeholders and leadership to elevate issues.
  • Coach junior team members on compliance topics.

Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions is a global leader in cloud-delivered 5G and LTE-enabled network solutions, connecting people, places, and things across industries worldwide. We are looking for an Environmental Engineer to join our growing engineering team and play a key role in driving the international expansion of our product portfolio. Based in Boise, ID; Santa Clara, CA; or Plano, TX; this full‑time role supports the Americas and sits at the intersection of regulatory compliance, supplier collaboration, and environmental stewardship across a broad range of networking products including mobile routers, IoT devices, and Private Cellular networks.

What you will do:
  • Ensure electronic products and accessories meet RoHS (2+3), REACH, WEEE, PFAS, and Conflict Minerals requirements
  • Own Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) reporting and fee payment processes
  • Analyze technical and legal documents and communicate clear, actionable compliance requirements to business stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional subject matter experts to improve environmental performance and compliance processes
  • Partner with Purchasing and suppliers to manage timelines for removing restricted substances from products
  • Support the definition and execution of corrective actions
  • Communicate with and influence external stakeholders and business leaders; elevate compliance issues as appropriate
  • Coach and share knowledge with less experienced compliance team members
The skills you bring:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience managing restricted substances regulations for electronic or Information Technology Equipment (ITE) devices
  • Ability to analyze Bills of Materials and manage compliance data collection from suppliers for REACH, RoHS, and other global materials regulations
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to navigate complex, high-volume information
  • Experience with RoHS in markets beyond the EU and US (e.g., China, Middle East, South Asia/Australia) is a plus
  • Familiarity with Proposition 65, Conflict Minerals reporting, or WEEE regulations is a plus

Your Pay
  • California: $176,500 - $220,500 base salary

Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

  • Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
