Job Summary:

The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for performing a range of sourcing, recruitment, pre-screening, and pre-employment duties for multiple projects. This includes partnering with hiring managers to identify workforce needs and establishing an effective sourcing and onboarding strategy.

Primary Duties:

  1. Provide strategic recruitment advice to project hiring managers and internal stakeholders to maximize the number and quality of candidates for each vacancy
  2. Ensure all aspects of the recruitment process comply with relevant employment legislation, as well as Yates standards
  3. Ensure all craft recruitment practices within Yates are performed in accordance with best practices, and free from favoritism, nepotism, and discrimination
  4. Conduct interviews validating skills, pre-employment medicals and coordinate mobilization requirements.
  5. Responsible for managing end-to-end craft recruitment activities, including screening, reference checking and other administrative tasks.
  6. Adopt practices which minimize costs without compromising results.
  7. Ensure all costs incurred as part of the recruitment process are tracked and allocated.
  8. Assist the HR team members where required with all aspects of craft recruitment activities.
  9. Establish reporting metrics to track success, timeliness, and efficiency of craft hiring activity.
  10. Lead regular meetings with recruiting team and division managers to ensure project staffing needs are met, providing metrics reporting weekly or as appropriate.
  11. Gather data regarding industry trends and labor market conditions; adjusting strategies as needed and sharing data with broader HR team and management as appropriate.

Safety Responsibilities and Expectations:

  1. Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established Yates Safety Procedures and Work Practices
  2. Report all incidents, near hits and hazards to management.
  3. Required to wear and maintain personal PPE.
  4. Advise fellow employees of hazardous situations.
  5. Participate in workplace inspections.
  6. Comply with statutory requirements, including duty of care.
  7. Participate in required and/or assigned training.
  8. Provide suggestions to improve Safety.
  9. Present a mature approach to working safely.
  10. Attend prestart and Safety meetings and contribute.
  11. Assists with administering the site safety program as required and ensuring Trade Partner compliance with OSHA standards and Yates Site Specific Requirements and all applicable safety codes and regulations.

Other related duties as needed and assigned by the Manager in support of the successful completion of the project.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required
  2. At least seven (7) years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process
  3. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
  4. Minimum five (5) years’ experience in end-to-end recruitment in the EPC Industry
  5. Experience with applicant tracking systems

Requirements:

  1. Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles
  2. Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment
  3. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems
  4. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  5. Detail oriented
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics
  8. Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
  9. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  10. Ability to handle competing priorities
